Q. My U.S. Citizen fiance wants to file a K1 fiance visa for me. I have a little dog who I love very much (she sleeps at the foot of my bed every night) and I want to bring her to the U.S. with me once my fiance visa is granted. Can I bring my little dog with me on my fiance visa?
A. The good news is that , in most situations, you probably can bring your little dog to the United States with you once your fiance visa is granted.
You do not have to get a separate visa from USCIS for your pet. You will want to check the current requirements with U.S. customs, for your country, to be sure you can bring your dog to the United States on your fiance visa. Generally you must show that your little dog is in good health and that she has her her vaccinations. Also check with the airline you wish to fly with to enter the United States.
Make sure your airline will allow you to bring your pet prior to buying your ticket. Each airline has its own policies concerning pets.
