Little known secrets of fiancé visa interviews and green card interviews from an attorney with 20 years of experience
The Chicago Tribune ran on article recently titled: The Immigration Puzzle. This article must be read if you are in the United States illegally. It covers the most recent developments in the area of comprehensive immigration reform.
According to the article eight U.S Senators (four Democrats and 4 Republicans) plan to introduce a bill this week having to do with comprehensive immigration reform, that , according to the article, they expect no one will love. It looks like it is placing a high emphasis on border enforcement.
“Before those immigrants could apply for green cards, or permanent resident status, the government would have to certify that the entire Mexican border was under U.S. surveillance, and that 90 percent of those who tried to cross illegally in certain high-risk zones were being stopped. In the meantime, the immigrants would be granted temporary legal status, allowing them to work and travel in the U.S.
If and when the benchmarks are met — it’s expected that would take a decade or more — the immigrants could be eligible for green cards. Three years later, they could apply for citizenship. That’s 13 years at least. But it would allow them to live in the open, instead of living in fear of deportation.
Before obtaining temporary legal status, they’d have to pass criminal background checks and pay an as-yet undetermined fine. Importantly, there would be no special “path to citizenship” for those immigrants. The bill aims to clear the backlog of immigrants who applied through legal channels within 10 years. Those who have been here illegally would go to the end of the line.”
“Setbacks in meeting the benchmarks could mean an indefinite wait for millions of those who are living here without legal permission but hope to become citizens.”
This is an excellent article and should be read by anyone who is in the United States illegally or has a loved one here illegally. This is not the end of comprehensive immigration reform. There will likely be much debate on this issue in the months to come.
If you are here illegally there are new Immigration programs which could allow you to stay in the United States legally. Please contact our office to get FREE information about the process.

Our experience was amazing. The process was smooth. Larry and Jason helped us every step of the way to get my husband’s temporary visa. When I started getting anxiety about how long it takes, what’s the next step or what if’s, I would call either of them and they had no problems giving me answers. Jason went with us to our meeting with immigration, and made us laugh the whole time. He really helped keep me calm as I suffer from anxiety very badly. A year later, I can still call Larry and ask questions about the next step. I’m very thankful I found these guys!!! Highly recommend them!
