Once your case is called for your K-1 fiancé visa interview you will be likely taken into a private office and interviewed by a Consular Officer. Your U.S. Citizen fiancé is not required by USCIS to attend this interview. However, he may be allowed to come to the interview with you. If you would like your U.S. Citizen fiancé to attend the interview then this should be looked into before he takes the trip out to the country where the interview is taking place.
If a child is going with you to the United States then you should bring that child with you to the interview.
The interview itself should take between 15 and 30 minutes. However, it could be a little longer or a little shorter depending on the interviewer and how he perceives the interview to be going. The interviewer will be using that time to learn about your background, your fiancé’s background and whether or not your relationship is genuine.
Our office would be happy to answer any questions you may have about the fiancé visa process.
